Spending time in Moab with fun couples is one of the best parts about being a photographer! Anabelsi found me on Tiktok after posting a video of me packing one of my welcome boxes I send to clients, and we hit it off as soon as we got on a call! She told me all about her dream Moab Elopement, how they wanted to visit the Arches and just be surrounded by all the red rock! I can’t wait to share this epic Moab elopement!!
We had such a great time planning this elopement! Anabelsi fell in love with the red rocks of Southern Utah! After making a few trips around Zion and Bryce Canyon, she knew she wanted to have her elopement experience in Moab. It was their first time visiting the Moab area, so we worked together to come up with a vision and how to execute it! I sent them a whole custom location guide full of places to get married at, where to stay, and things to do! After they chose their favorite locations, we got to work on planning a timeline so we can add in the activities they loved that were in my elopement guide, and get a feel of how fast paced they wanted their day. We ended up overestimating on time so there was room to stop and eat or if they loved an activity they had we didn’t have to wrap it up early!
These two found Under Canvas in my custom location guide, and it was such a cute spot for their vow writing and getting ready photos. We also walked over to a viewpoint of the LaSalle Mountains for their first look! The front porch was such a cute place to hang out and the staff heard they were eloping so they decorated their tent!
After their getting ready photos, we drove into Arches National Park for their vow exchange! While Anabelsi and Carson got legally married at the courthouse in their East Coast town, they still wanted to share their vows in Moab! Double Arch is one of the busier Arches in the area, but we wandered to a quieter spot where we could still see the arch!
When in Arches National Park, pretty arch photos are a must! Some of my favorite archers in the national park include Double Arch, North Window, Turett Arch, and Sand Dune Arch! The following photos were taken at Double Arch.
The great thing about Arches is that you don’t need a permit for portraits, just wedding ceremonies! So we were able to explore the park a bit more and find other beautiful red rock locations!
After a couple hours in Arches National Park, we started the drive to Dead Horse Point State Park! We swung by a gas station for some food, then finished the 45 min drive. These two hit up a Good Will in Salt Lake to get all these cute things for their picnic! We set it up on the side of the cliff to enjoy a view and enjoy some slow, low key, time on their elopement day.
Dead Horse Point State Park is the best place in Moab for sunset! The sky turns pretty colors of pink, and the sun sets behind beautiful red rock towers.
