Tucked right by Wind Mountain in the Columbia River Gorge, Wind Mountain Ranch is a wedding venue with rentable cabins. There are stunning views of The Columbia River, Wind Mountain, and The Oregon side of the Columbia River Gorge. Each cabin has a slightly different theme, but they are perfect for a short stay or for your intimate wedding!
Stevenson, Washington is just an hour outside of Portland, Oregon. You’ll drive from Portland International Airport to Cascade Locks where you’ll cross The Bridge of the Gods (featured in Twilight!) Stevenson is a smaller town in the middle of The Columbia River Gorge, but has a couple of restaurants, stores, and places to shop!
The Dalles are another major town in Oregon and about a 45 min drive to Stevenson.
Wind Mountain Ranch has a few types of cabins that range from $150-$250 a night with a 2 night minimum. The more expensive cabins like The Westerner has a loft space with multiple beds as well as a formal bedroom. Other cabins such as Wind River has more of a studio feel with a loft included.
Wind Mountain Ranch lists their cabins as “standard” and “deluxe” but all have a nice outdoor space and it’s a perfect getaway! For more information on each cabin and it’s amenities, check out their website!
Stevenson is a great central location for when you want to explore all the iconic parts of the Columbia River Gorge! Multnomah falls is a 30 min drive, Thunder Island Brewing in Cascade Locks is a cute spot to grab a brew, and there’s so many viewpoints and trails to check out nearby!
If you’re having an intimate wedding, your guests can stay in their own cabin! While they’re still nearby, and you can hang out with all your friends and family, you also have your own space at the end of the day.
Wind Mountain Ranch did an amazing job decorating the cabins! Each has everything you need for a practical stay, but everything is decorated so nicely with a slight theme that isn’t too overbearing.
As a native Oregonian, Summer is a great time to get married in the Gorge if you want to avoid rain and have a lot of light throughout your day! The trails are typically dry, but it can get quite busy! Fall is my second favorite time in The Gorge since you may get a bit of that rainy moody Pacific Northwest vibe, and it’s a shoulder season so usually less crowded!
Airbnb’s are a great place to stay for a few days where you get a whole place to yourself in a location near your ceremony spot! If you’re traveling for your intimate wedding, it gives you time to explore the area and make a whole trip out of it!
As a photographer, I always recommend having a cute airbnb to spend your elopement morning in! There’s so many activities you can do while in a cabin or Airbnb and you want it to look cute! Making some coffee together, playing a board game, or getting ready in your rental are really sweet, storytelling, photos that my couples have adored getting in their final gallery!
If you’re traveling in for your elopement or micro wedding, renting an Airbnb for the duration of your stay makes it a great central and comfortable location to have! Wind Mountain Ranch has beautiful views, and is close to great hikes and restaurants without it being too far from a major city like Portland. At the end of a long day on the trails, you can grab a glass of wine and sit on the porch while watching the sunset!

Permits are only required for large weddings in the Columbia River Gorge. You would need enough space in your location to also Leave No Trace
The Portland Airport is the closest major airport to the Columbia River Gorge. It is about a 1 hour drive.
The Pacific Northwest has nice weather in the summer, but visiting during fall or spring gives a higher chance for the moody, rainy, Twilight vibes!
I define an intimate wedding as 40 people or less.
For most spaces, keeping your guest list under 30 lets you follow Leave No Trace principles while still being in a beautiful location!
You may not be able to invite everyone on your guest list and some locations may not be accessible for those with limited mobility.
